What is fondant? TOP
Fondant is a rolled sugar icing used to create a flawless look, it is easily moldable and has become quite popular for use on wedding and other special occasion cakes.
I have heard fondant doesn't taste good, is that true? TOP
Most people prefer the taste of buttercream to fondant; however, Amuse Gourmet always adds a layer of buttercream between the fondant and the cake so that you have the best of both worlds....the beautiful look of fondant and the great taste of buttercream.
Why is fondant more expensive than a buttercream cake? TOP
Because the fondant cake has a layer of buttercream as well, thus you are getting two layers of icing and this adds additional cost.
When should I order my wedding cake? TOP
As soon as possible. While most wedding guides will tell you to wait until three months before the wedding, it is best to secure your baker 6-12 months out to ensure that there is availability.
Do you make your own sugar flowers? TOP
We are very pleased to offer hand-crafted sugar flowers and are able to make most flowers out of either fondant or gumpaste.
If I change my mind about the cake and want to make a change, is it ok to do that? TOP
You are welcome to make any necessary changes to the cake up to 14 days of the event date, changes may result in a price increase or decrease accordingly. Any changes made within 14 days of the event will result in an automatic late-change fee.
Can I pick up my wedding cake instead of having you deliver? TOP
The delivery of a wedding cake is always the hardest part! We do not allow for pickup of any cake larger than two tiers. Trust me, you don't want to worry about delivering your own cake!!
How far in advance do I need to book a special occasion cake? TOP
14 days prior to the event date is preferred, though we will consider accomodating last minute cakes if we have availability. Late booking fees will apply to all cakes booked within a 14 day period.
I want to have fresh flowers on my cake, how many do I need to order? TOP
This amount is determined by the design of the cake, once we have a design in place we will estimate the amount of flowers that need to be ordered or we can coordinate directly with your florist.
Do you provide cake stands and other equipment? TOP
We have a large selection of cake stand for you to choose from as well as fountains, pillars, and more. These are available for rent, please inquire for pricing.
Do you offer cake cutting service? TOP
Typically this service is provided by the venue which you are hosting your reception; however, if you are in need of cake cutting we can supply that for an additional fee. Based on availability.
Should I save the top tier of my cake for my anniversary? TOP
This is your choice. While some couples still find this tradition appealing many others choose not to save the top tier (perhaps for lack of freezer space) and instead order a freshly made replica of their top tier for their one year anniversary.
When do I need to order my first anniversary cake? TOP
Please allow at least 14 days.

Yes, we love to make children's cakes!
Do you offer "smash" cakes with a child's birthday cake? TOP
On all children's birthday cakes ages 3 and under we do provide a small "smash" cake for the baby to dig into in addition to the ordered cake. We provide this at no additional charge.
Why is your pricing higher than other bakers in this area? TOP
At Amuse Gourmet, we have chosen to provide exclusively custom work. We are not selling your average cakes, you will not find the style of work nor the caliber of baked goods at the average bakeshop in the area. We have highly trained staff and we choose to provide the extraordinary rather than the ordinary. If you are a budget friendly bride, we may not be the best option for you. We believe that you get what you pay for and we guarantee that if you choose to work with us you will be fully satisfied!
